“OLD MILL” GRAND PRIX An adventure race for children aged 10 – 16

REGULATIONS: The race will be held in the area surrounding the St. Joseph Bridge at Rijavac near Pazin. The first race will begin at 10:30 AM. Starting from 9:30 AM contestants can review the race track. The race starts by rowing an inflatable boat from the St. Joseph Bridge up to the damn using only one ore. Leaving the boat, contestants climb up one side of the damn and down the other, run to the right along a circular track up to the paved road, and then back again towards the damn. At the mill, contestants mount their bikes and ride the MTB trail towards the Pazin roof, going left until they reach a dirt road, left again towards the paved road and back to the mill and the Finish line of the race. Contestants are required to wear protective bike helmets and to provide parental approval. Contestants should apply by Thursday, June 24 at 3:00 PM with the Tourist Association of the Town of Pazin (phone 622-46). Verification of contestants will be carried out half an hour prior to the start of the race. Applications must be signed by a parent. DURING THE RACE, MONEY DONATIONS WILL BE COLLECTED FOR THE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF TOMAŽ’S MILL. |

WHY
ARE WE DOING THIS? Because we want to give children, who would be eager to participate in a large-scale adventure race like the “Around the Town of Pazin in 80 Minutes” race, the chance to experience competition that is not too strenuous for them. Because we want to play our part in preserving the Pazinčica dale, which has been an inspiration to many before us.
