In Jules Verne's novel "Mathias Sandorf", the Austro-Hungarian police discovered the conspiracy in Trieste, and prisoned Hungarian nobles Mathias Sandorf, Ettiene Bathory and Ladislaus Zathmar were forwarded to the Pazin Castle. The military court sentenced them to death, but after they found out that the conspiracy was betrayed, they decided to escape.
The traditional program of the "Jules Verne's Days" in Pazin is the reconstruction of this episodes from the novel. Here is how it looked like:

Pod oružanom pratnjom žandara, urotnici su kroz grad sprovedeni put Kaštela * Under the armed escort of Austrian policemen, prisoners were transported through the city of Pazin to the ancient Pazin Castle

Pučanstvo je proglasom pozvano na suđenje veleizdajnicima * The messanger read the invitation to the trial U dvorištu drevnog Kaštela iz 10. stoljeća, okupljeno pučanstvo čeka suđenje... * The audience waits for the begining of the trial to Mathias Sandorf and his companions in the yard of the ancient Castle of Pazin... ... a spreman je i Visoki vojni sud. * ... and the High Military Court is also ready.

Zatvorenici čekaju suđenje u tamnici Kaštela * Prisoners are waiting to be called at the court Kad je kucnuo čas, Mathias Sandorf, Ladislav Zathmar i Stjepan Bathory suočavaju se sa sudbinom * When the time came, Sandorf, Zathmar and Bathory where faced to their destiny

Dokazi su bili prejaki, i Visoki vojni sud osudio je zavjerenike na smrt strijeljanjem * With very strong evidences, the High Military Court sentenced all three prisoners to death

Završni pozdrav publici * Final greeting to the audience
